The OTIS Foundation is challenging those with a spirit of adventure to join its quest to conquer one of humankind’s most impressive architectural feats – the Great Wall of China.
Departing in October 2019, the OTIS Great Wall Adventure will see up to 20 participants experiencing the ancient and modern contrasts of Beijing, exploring iconic sites like the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and the Temple of Heaven and, of course, discovering the steps and slopes of the Great Wall of China.
The journey is also a significant fundraiser for The OTIS Foundation, raising money to provide retreat accommodation at no cost to those experiencing the challenges of breast cancer.
Interim CEO of The OTIS Foundation, Lisa Farrar, said that the 2019 OTIS Great Wall Adventure is vital to assist the foundation’s growth “We are focussed on expanding our property network to serve more people with breast cancer Australia-wide, with the ambitious target to double the number of stays we provide by 2021.” Ms. Farrar said.
We believe that every family deserves time to create memories together. Sadly for some, a stay at an OTIS property will be the last chance to spend quality time with their loved ones
Jillian Mitchell is a past OTIS guest and was one of the participants who travelled to Tuscany in September on The OTIS Foundation’s first international adventure, “Tuscany was just an amazing opportunity for me personally. The people, the place – it was just incredible.” Mrs Mitchell said.
The 2019 OTIS Great Wall Adventure will take place 5-13 October 2019. Participants are required to cover the costs of their own travel as well as fundraise for The OTIS Foundation. All profits go directly to support the running costs associated with the operation of the charity’s national-network of breast cancer retreats.
