A strong, hard-working team of seven women are employed by The OTIS Foundation with the clear purpose of assisting women and men across Australia who are dealing with the challenges of breast cancer.
As the world celebrates International Women's Day 2019, the OTIS team celebrates its achievements over 19 years, as it embarks on a plan to grow its service significantly to serve more people Australia-wide.
The OTIS Foundation is a Bendigo-based national charity that gifts retreat accommodation to those experiencing breast cancer, with the aim that the time away with loved ones will help ease the emotional hardships that go alongside their diagnosis. With more than 18,000 diagnoses each year in Australia alone, there is growing demand for the unique gift The OTIS Foundation offers.

The all-female team at The OTIS Foundation acknowledge that for many guests the chance to get away offers space not only for the person affected by breast cancer, but also those closest to them. As gender-equality is considered this International Women’s Day, the team are proud that their work supports spouses and families as well. They are also grateful for the women and men who donate properties or money to support the organisation's vital psychological wellbeing component, which helps individuals fight the insidious disease and create memories with loved ones.
In the 2017/18 financial year the charity provided 809 stays across its network of properties, which are located in every mainland state of Australia. The organisation is focused on significant expansion, as it aims to grow this number by close to double by 2021.
To achieve its growth aims, The OTIS Foundation needs to increase its properties number and income. To find out more about donating time at your property click on the button below.
