Q&A with Nola Tranter

Thursday, February 15, 2018

We would like to introduce one of our key team members, Nola Tranter - Bookings Manager for The OTIS Foundation. Nola is often the only contact our guests have with OTIS and her beautiful, caring manner epitomises OTIS.

What is your role with OTIS?

As the Bookings Manager at The OTIS Foundation, I am the person answering the calls and emails from the guests inquiring about a stay at one of our retreats.

How long have you worked at OTIS?

Almost right on three years.

What do you most enjoy about speaking to OTIS guests?

Speaking to the guests is the most enjoyable part of my day. In order to match a prospective guest to a suitable property, I need to find out a few details from them – so at times a relationship is built around these calls. I hear of the challenges they have been through or are still going through and a insight into their family situations as well. I feel privileged to be included in this very personal journey and love having these conversations.

Most guests are very grateful for this gift of a break away with their loved ones and I feel so pleased to be able to offer this to them at a time when they need it most.

What is the most challenging part of your role?

Sometimes, due to the high demand in some states, we cannot always place a guest when they first contact us and we many need to place them on a waiting list until a property becomes available. This is not the most ideal outcome, particularly when I am aware they are really in need of a stay.

List the top three things you love about working at OTIS
  • I love being able to offer these amazing women, who have been through so much, this time away to relax and recharge in a beautiful peaceful setting.
  • After booking them in I quite often hear the comment “You’ve made my day” and actually the feeling is mutual. It is so rewarding receiving an email, a photo, or a thank you card from a grateful guest telling us how much they enjoyed this special time away with their family and friends creating special memories together.
  • I love working with the amazing women that make up the OTIS team. We are a bit like a small family and we are really all very passionate about the rewarding work that we do.
